ABOUT ME
A Little About Me…
Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Skinner. I am an undergraduate student at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where I am pursuing a degree in Economics. I graduated with highest honors at the top 5% of my class as a National Honor Society Member, AP Scholar, French Club President, Student Council Officer, Leadership Core Officer, and Mathlethics team member.
My true passion lies in philanthropy which is why I created my own organization, Hands of Hope. Hands of Hope strives to instill hope and self confidence in today’s generation. Hands of Hope specializes in inter-active, hands-on programs targeted at ages K-12 bringing awareness on the importance of self love. Our H.O.P.E program presents on education and awareness for domestic & relationship violence for teens (bringing HELP. OPPORTUNITIES.PREVENTION.EDUCATION). My main mission is to show our youth how and why to love themselves unconditionality and create spaces of acceptance for EVERYONE.
In addition, I have completed over 950 hours of community service serving organizations such as, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, Girl Scouts, Feed My Vets, Ronald McDonald House of Charities, Operation Christmas Child, Upstate Cerebral Palsy, Gigi’s Playhouse, and so many more outstanding causes! I believe in the power of giving back and aim to encourage community engagement nationwide.
Outside of my passion for service, I am extremely interested in working in entertainment industry. I have been modeling for six years working with brands like Sherri Hill, Blush Prom, MMG, Martino Cartier x Paula Adbul Forever Your Curl, House of Barretti, and more! I combined my love for service, public engagement, and modeling by entering my first pageant at the age of 12. I got a letter in the mail (that my mom almost threw away) inviting me to an open call for a state pageant. At first, I was hesitant because of my low self-esteem at the time but loved the idea of what pageants embody : female empowerment. (No, not like toddlers and tiaras…) Fast forward (past the three years of failure walking in heels, my cross-bite smile, and stage-fright with a microphone), I won my first title as the 2018 National American Miss New York Junior Teen. In the following years, I was honored with the titles of Miss New York High School America and Miss District of Columbia High School America. With hard work and perseverance, I won my first National title of Miss High School America 2021 and a $15,000 scholarship. I later captured the National title of Princess America Pageant’s National Teen 2022. In 2023, I won the coveted title of Miss New York Teen USA 2023. At Miss Teen USA 2023, I made history for New York by placing 1st Runner Up to the title of Miss Teen USA for the first time in over 25 years. I also won Miss Teen USA 2023 BEST OVERALL INTERVIEW! Pageantry is a launching pad and I am beyond grateful for the one of kind platform it offers young women like myself!
